Over 30 High School Teams from across South-East Qld are preparing to battle it out in what is now the largest FREE High School Hip Hop Dance Competitions in the country. The REMIX Dance Competition is back for its second year, bigger & better than ever! More schools, tougher competitors, more categories & styles of dance, bigger production & a stack of talent on display as teams battle it out for bragging rights to be the 2009 Remix Champions.

This is the first competition to feature and connect a number of existing dance programs & events with the aim of positively linking high school participants from a diverse group of backgrounds. It contributes to improving our teenage populations own social and emotional wellbeing as well as inspiring them to reach their goals and dreams.

The Remix is a free competition for all competitors and schools who are involved. Schools are given access to workshops and tutorials in the lead up to the competition, refining their dancing skills and giving them a platform that is not only designed for this competition, but to propel them with their dancing careers. Intensive workshops are taking place in the lead up to the main event, facilitating students to prepare and choreograph their own routines in a battle to be crowned Brisbane’s Freshest Crew.

Dance Crews are competing for $1000 cash for their school, plus a Dance Development Program constructed by working industry dance professionals valued at over $5000.
